Who we are

IHMS is a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to provide social and private health insurance services to individuals, groups, corporate organizations and governments.

IHMS utilizes thousands of health care providers including general practitioners, specialists, clinics, hospitals and diagnostic centers spread all over Nigeria. IHMS operates from fully computerized coordinating zonal offices in Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Ibadan, Benin, Minna, Kaduna and Jos.

We currently manage hundreds of thousands of registered members including private individuals, families, corporate organizations, schools and public institutions.

Our mission is to deliver the highest level of health and wellness to all our customers.

Engr. (Chief) Olawumi A. Gasper, F.N.S.E, MNI – Chairman

A fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers with business interests in various sectors of the economy, the immediate past Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, he is currently the executive secretary of the Lagos state technical education vocational board (LASTEV)

A fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers with business interests in various sectors of the economy, the immediate past Rector of the Lagos State Polytechnic, he is currently the executive secretary of the Lagos state technical education vocational board (LASTEV)

Senator (Professor) Jubril Aminu, CON, FAS – Director

A distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Professor Aminu’s career has spanned the academia, administration, medicine, and politics. As a former federal minister of education and petroleum resources, he contributed immensely to the development of those sectors and the nation in general.

Mr. Sina Elusakin, BSc, MBA, AIIN, MEI – Director

Mr. Elusakin holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and a Masters of Business Administration (Banking and Finance) degree. He is also an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and a member of the Energy Institute, London. Mr. Elusakin expertise in Oil and Gas underwriting skill is recognized both in Nigeria and Internationally.

 

Mr. Sina Elusakin, BSc, MBA, AIIN, MEI – Director

Mr. Elusakin holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and a Masters of Business Administration (Banking and Finance) degree. He is also an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria and a member of the Energy Institute, London. Mr. Elusakin expertise in Oil and Gas underwriting skill is recognized both in Nigeria and Internationally.

 

Mr. Oladipo Edu, HND (INS.), LLB, BL, LLM, ACIB – Director

Rotimi Edu holds a Higher National Diploma in Insurance and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Lagos. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2003. He is also actively involved in Insurance Law and Commercial Law practice and has over the years made his mark in the real estate sector. He has wide experience in land matters which includes registration and perfection of title, embracing arbitration procedures in land and insurance matters.

As a seasoned insurance practitioner and lawyer, he has consulted on several knotty claims for clients and insurance companies in areas of life, general and liability insurance including health insurance/ health management and claims determination and settlement.

He is a member of the Governing Council of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), member, Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industries.

He is the current President of Lagos Lawn Tennis Club and a member of Ikoyi and Lagos Country Club.

Dr. Sade Adeyi, MD, MPH, FACP – Director

A United States trained and licensed family physician with an interest in Public health awareness and preventive medicine.

She has commitment to providing wholesome and integrated care for patients of all ages, sexes, and race.

Dr. Chidi Ukandu, MBBS, MBA, MSc – Managing Director.

Dr. Chidi Ukandu is a graduate of the University of Nigeria Medical School, the University of Lagos Business School and the University of Aberdeen, U.K. where he obtained an MBBS, MBA, MSc, in Medicine and Surgery, Business Administration and International Health & Management respectively.

He has over 20 years experience in the Healthcare Industry spanning Clinical Management, Hospital Administration, Employee Benefits Administration, and Health Project Planning and Training. Prior to joining IHMS, Dr. Ukandu has established and managed 2 health facilities; was involved in the drawing up of health systems implementation plans for 4 states in Nigeria (a World Bank & Federal Ministry of Health Project); and has served as a training consultant to top executives of more than 30 tertiary health facilities and some top private organizations in Nigeria.

Mr. Olubukola Olaoye, AAT, PGDM, ANIMN, MIT. – Head, Marketing & Client Service

He is a dynamic and astute Marketer, an Associate member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) Category. He holds a Master Degree in Information Technology (MIT).  His experience spans over 20 years in the healthcare industry having worked successfully in the foremost healthcare facilities and Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs)

He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer.

Mr. Olubukola Olaoye, AAT, PGDM, ANIMN, MIT. – Head, Marketing & Client Service

He is a dynamic and astute Marketer, an Associate member of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in the Accounting Technician Scheme (ATS) Category. He holds a Master Degree in Information Technology (MIT).  His experience spans over 20 years in the healthcare industry having worked successfully in the foremost healthcare facilities and Health Maintenance Organisations (HMOs)

He is currently the Chief Marketing Officer.

Mr. Adeleke Adigun, ACIA, MPA. – Head, Administration

He is a dynamic professional with years of practical experience in Administration.

Mr. Adigun is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Administration of Nigeria and a Master degree holder in Public Administration. He has held the position as head of administration successfully for several years.

With over 17 years of professional experience, he is vast in the areas of office administration and human resources management.
